@datum@zeroes.ca It was nonsense. We have an experienced editor who'd never heard of such a thing and our publisher was astonished. CBC and Global may very well have left the meeting after that, since staying in the call would've meant accepting the terms. Unless they were told when they registered ahead of time, I don't know. Any "off the record" or conversations "on background" have to be decided through mutual agreement ahead of time. One can't just dictate an agreement like that on a whim. Even though the recording was public, and I listened to it several times to be certain I heard it correctly, I still have someone questioning my journalistic integrity for not waiting to hear back from AESO media relations. Like an obedient stenographer, just repeating the official line despite the evidence.
