The whole article https://thenarwhal.ca/three-pipeline-announcements-2026/?utm_source=mastodon&utm_campaign=grassroots is extraordinary by the way, worth reading for people with any political ideology. The interviewee makes a lot of strong statements! #CDNPoli #Canada #Pipeline #news #FossilFuels #OilAndGas

@datum@zeroes.ca @thenarwhal@mstdn.ca it needs subsidies because no investor wants to take 30y bet on an industry that's already collapsing. The global price managed to collapse while the worlds largest producers in Russia and the middle east are unable to ship. What's the price going to do when Russia, Venezuela, and the entire middle east are shipping? It will be $30/bbl, and AB oil will return to its normal non-viability.

@datum@zeroes.ca @thenarwhal@mstdn.ca oh but the market can afford it. Canada is a loyal mark for Big Oil is all.

@datum@zeroes.ca @thenarwhal@mstdn.ca Governments build infrastructure so business can transport natural resources to markets and Beaver Fever water to the US. This may be political theater to keep Alberta happy while actually doing nothing.
