Two betas in and the #tvOS 27 UI is still 100% visually unchanged from tvOS 26. It still has the iOS 26-style liquid glass with the 45° skewed lighting and the plasticky looking icons (& still no Icon Composer support!) and everything.
I know the rumors say there’s a new Apple TV device coming soon, but I have a hard time imagining they would release new hardware with the software using a visual style they’ve moved on from (& whose creator has moved on from Apple, lol)

Turns out if you unify the visual style across (checks notes) 6 different operating systems with a style you redesign every year to keep up with trends, you have to maintain all the operating systems. Who knew?

@dale_price@mastodon.online Currently writing a blog post on this. It's so weird. macOS has the best Liquid Glass implementation this year, iOS looks plain bad. visionOS did not get any of it still and you said everything about tvOS. The OSes are more inconsistent than ever.
