Good Morning #Canada
OTD in 1944, Tommy Douglas becomes the Premier of Saskatchewan. In just a few short years he would implement #UniversalHealthcare in the province and spark similar movement across Canada, ultimately resulting in a national program. He is undoubtedly one of the most impactful Canadians in history and we need another like him to deliver us from capitalism's hold on government policy.

@PaulBusch@cosocial.ca There should be an interpretative plaque for Tommy Douglas at every public hospital entrance about the Father of Public Healthcare in Canada. More Tommy Douglas statues, less hockey player statues!
