@RogerBW@discordian.social @Simpike@mastodon.social @alicemcalicepants@ohai.social @stephaniewalter@front-end.social Yes. This! Double coding using colour AND shape is pretty much the way to go in most board games. It’s technically a solved issue (but mass produced cubes are cheaper so here we are…) An additional issue with wooden cubes is they’re often printed a different shade from the cube on the card or board, making for yet another issue for colourblind board gaming folk! #BoardGames #BrettSpiele #j2s

@lordsplodge@brettspiel.space @Simpike@mastodon.social @alicemcalicepants@ohai.social @stephaniewalter@front-end.social Heh. A standard part of my teaching PUSH is "then you roll the die, and ignore the orange colour, this face is yellow, it has the same symbol as the yellow card".

@lordsplodge@brettspiel.space @RogerBW@discordian.social @alicemcalicepants@ohai.social @stephaniewalter@front-end.social fair to say that shading issue drives us all up the wall. Must be 10 times worse for you

@lordsplodge@brettspiel.space @RogerBW@discordian.social @alicemcalicepants@ohai.social @stephaniewalter@front-end.social on an entirely separate note have you ever read "Shades of Grey" by Jasper Fforde or the sequel "Red Side Story" An interesting story about a society where social class is determined by one's ability to perceive colour. Quirky and very thought provoking
