The last time I bought a physical ticket was to an air show. Buying tickets to stuff was so rare in my life that I never found it inconvenient.
Every time I have bought a virtual ticket, and got spam in my email for the next year, and had to give their app a lot of access to my phone otherwise the damn virtual ticket wouldn't work, well I never liked those experiences.
I think the necessity of being forced to buy a virtual ticket keeps me from going to many ticketed events.

@Urban_Hermit@mstdn.social I miss physical tickets; I worry about battery drain and phone dying at the worst possible time. Can"t even take a pic for backup due to constantly changing QR codes. I had fun standing in line waiting for the box office to open, talking to people & hoping decent seats would be available; at least there was an illusion of fairness. Besides, I had a ticket stub collection to feed. This is one area where tech made things worse,
