Detailed yesterday the geolocation of this image, Water Street at John St. Saskatchewan Pool 6 grain elevator, torn down in 2000. Another image impossible to reproduce today.
There is still much rail infrastructure in Thunderbay. CN has a line from Winnipeg via USA, Fort Frances anmd along US border to Thunderbay. CP has it main Toronto-Vancouver line through Thunder Bay. And many industries still have spurs to get cargo in/out.

Haven't geolocatred first image. Second image is taken from further north east of Sask Pool 6 grain storage/elevator that is now demolished. Thunderbay seems to have cleared at least two large areas that were formerly grain elevators. Now am curious if due to lower volumes or if the remaining elevators just more efficient. Montréal also demolished grain elevators in the 1980s to make room for the "old port".
