and then once the install had completed (after first boot, seeing the welcome screen and so on) we could have nice things:
qemu-system-i386 -drive file=hda.img,format=raw -m 128 -nic none -vga cirrus -audio pipewire,model=ac97

anyway, as you may guess we've installed Windows 2000 in a VM for WINE/loss32 development purposes is it lovely? absolutely is it peak Windows? I'm not sure. the animations on menus and tooltips are obnoxious, as is the IE click sound that plays every time you navigate a folder
