As usual, I bring the weird stuff to Masto, people know how to solve odd things here. I just installed #Vmware Workstation 17.6 on a #Windows10 #LTSC computer. I've done this before, and in fact done it quite often, but not on this unit. It usually just works. I have two problems, both for the first time in my experience. First, going through the menus is incredibly slow once the VM launches. #NVDA insists on speaking the item until it's done, it doesn't cut off as usual. Before the first virtual machine is launched, there's no issue, I can go through the menu at whatever speed I like. Secondly, NVDA Remote's keyboard input doesn't work in the virtual machine or in the vmware interface after the first VM is launched. It's as if the VM's launching installs some sort of #keyboard hook which both slows everything down and makes #NVDARemote fail completely within the VM. I have removed workstation 17.6, killed everything I could find about VMWare, and installed 17.0. No luck, same thing happens. Any ideas or questions would be gratefully received, and boosts are very welcome.
