@gruber@mastodon.social @caseyliss@mastodon.social @Gte@mastodon.social I feel like claiming Fahrenheit is a scale from 0–100°F representing human comfort just doesn’t ring true.
0°F seems more equivalent in (dis)comfort to ~115°F
So it’s not even very good at the one thing you’re all claiming it’s good at

@BenRiceM@mastodon.social @gruber@mastodon.social @Gte@mastodon.social I wouldn’t say 50ºF is uncomfortably cold. In fact, I don’t think I’d even say it’s brisk. What I won’t say out loud — since I’m so dug in — is that part of what makes ºF so appealing to me is that in my lifetime, I only live in places humans should inhabit, so ºF works well there. If you live in somewhere uninhabitable — like, say, Canada — it perhaps doesn’t fit quite as well.
