If you are switching to #Linux but not ready to commit, best thing you can do is look for linux programs that also run on windows and learn how they work. Replace MS Office with LibreOffice, replace Photshop with GIMP, replace Outlook with Thunderbird, etc; When in doubt, google for "linux alternative to..." will give you an idea of what to install.
