How often have we heard, "You don't need unions any more." because seemingly corporations were different now and would give us a living wage and benefits out of kindness I suppose. The same thing is happening here where we are told Canadian corps. don't need checks and balances for how they operate internationally. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/corporate-watchdog-cancellation-complaints-human-rights-9.7263086

@Gordarnit@union.place People are not terribly smart. You see this pattern repeated over and over and over: We see a problem, create a solution to the problem, eliminate the problem, declare the problem a thing of the past, decry the solution as archaic because the problem no longer exists then tear down the solution only to recreate the original problem. You see the pattern with environmental issues, with health issues, with labour issues. And, always, it's some skeevy bag of dirt pushing the narrative. It's annoying.
