Honestly, I'm so disappointed in the EU Commission lately, with all the "W" nonsense, "Chat Control" and "AI" boosting. It seems that the folk are either tech-illiterate and just listen to what they are being told by the US, or that the EU is in a complete choke-hold by the US tech giants. Or even worse, both. I really was an EU fanboy, but this is breaking my heart.

@petrikas@mastodon.art I've found that it's the anti-AI crowd that are tech-illiterate. Fully agree with the W and Chat Control nonsense though - although that's more a symptom of how easily bribed they are. Sorry, "influenced by lobbyists" is the term that allows them to do it while smiling.

@petrikas@mastodon.art I fully understand. We need to keep explaining to our immediate environment what this means. We need to get involved in politics. Because that's the only way. It takes effort, it takes time. But it's what we have to do to get where we want to go.

@petrikas@mastodon.art it is so depressing. It's like they have looked at the US Tech industry, with all its failures and abuses of power and thought "Ooo I want that here, but local". Rather than "how do we make a better local industry".

@petrikas@mastodon.art they seem to do only what lobbies representing private companies want. Mainly, lobbies from USA. They are completely useless to preserve our rights.
