Okay! People who are self hosting chat platforms: I would like your opinions on Fluxer and Stoat if you've tried either, or both, of them. Both look good, Stoat looks like a little more work to self host, but also it might be more mature and have a more distinct interface from Discord.
My community is currently using Matrix and it works, but the call experience primarily is something that could be smoother; especially seeing who is in a call and having the option to not watch a live stream going on in the call, and, to have the ability for multiple people to stream different streams.
If you've tried Matrix and are able to compare to that, too, it would be very helpful.
Thanks!

@boo_@im-in.space stoat is a bit janky (especially the ui) and the selfhosted setup has the old ui the official instance has a new one which is better but also does not support mobile nearly as much as the old one also there is currently no way to change stoat instances in apps, just opening the website in a new tab

@boo_@im-in.space If you're looking specifically to selfhost, Stoat doesn't do federation (no cross-server login or communication), whereas Fluxer has firm plans for federation (though no support for it yet).
