@jaredwhite@indieweb.social I've been struggling as well, with a single 2-month contract in 2025. 20+ years of experience in the field and a track record often commented as "impressive" by my (now rare) clients, and yet, two months ago, I was considering turning the page on SWE, platform engineering, and security because of the state of the industry and its ethics... I can only offer support by saying that you are not alone in this. Artists are more often than not living in poverty, but their life is rich in a different way. Sacrificing your lifetime to the soul-crushing Tech Bros is not a viable option, in my opinion.
