I'm not sure if this is just me getting older or what, and I've been a Linux user for over 20 years now, but for the last few months the predominant feeling I get when booting up my laptop is *gratitude*.
It really is remarkable how much work and effort and ingenuity and genius went into this system.
And I can just... *have* it? Like, for nothing? And then people will just *help* me with it? Just because?
Wild.

@ojensen@hachyderm.io You may get it for nothing but it is better if you can afford to donate back to the community. Time, money, skills. They gave their time and money for this to happen, and I am grateful for it.
