@SidFudd@4bear.com Usually I’m very fond of our local bears and enjoy watching them!
This was a 1 year old—young enough to be curious but not experienced enough to know better. Size of a very large dog. No parent nearby.
We all surprised each other in my backyard. Being big, yelling no, and backing up slowly without running is the way to go. Running means you’re prey. (Thank you, animal behavior major in college!)
I’ve never been prey in this lifetime and am not about to start now!

@GavCortland@woof.group Are you on the interface between suburbia and wilderness? I'm in Burbank, meaning we get raccoons and possums and that's about all (never seen a coyote on my block, although I have seen one a half mile away).
