@hosford42@techhub.social LLMs were part of it, but LLMs were more for the applicants spamming applications everywhere en masse. Automation shit-tech like #Workday (under multiple discrimination lawsuits, BTW) would not only decline you, but mark in ALL the companies under Workday as 'no'. Companies also use extreme variations of "AI" as well for filtering people at scale. And how do we know there werent rules that apply age, sex, name, race, religion discrimination? We don't. So how do you balance 20 minutes for an application and rejected in 5 seconds? You automate and scale up. But, when everyone does, it also gets worse for everyone.

    @crankylinuxuser@infosec.exchange If you could change it -- without the ability to stop the bad behaviors of individual people, but only the process or system itself -- how would you make the job market work?
