While Planet and others US Earth Observation companies are restricting images over Lebanon, Airbus provides critical imagery to reporting on the huge scale of Israeli destruction in Lebanon.
"Rights groups have sounded the alarm, warning that Israel’s military offensive is mirroring tactics used in Gaza – from heavy strikes on critical infrastructure and healthcare facilities, to the targeting of journalists and psychological warfare.”

“To cover the Iran war, The New York Times has turned to international providers. We are able to continue reporting by combining public data — like ship and plane tracking data and online military posts — with imagery from providers in Europe and Asia. For example, I was able to use flight tracking data and a European satellite image (Airbus) to monitor a resupply aircraft and establish that a US base in Djibouti was serving the U.S.S. George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier.” https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/08/insider/iran-war-satellite-image-restrictions.html
