@hosford42@techhub.social LLMs were part of it, but LLMs were more for the applicants spamming applications everywhere en masse. Automation shit-tech like #Workday (under multiple discrimination lawsuits, BTW) would not only decline you, but mark in ALL the companies under Workday as 'no'. Companies also use extreme variations of "AI" as well for filtering people at scale. And how do we know there werent rules that apply age, sex, name, race, religion discrimination? We don't. So how do you balance 20 minutes for an application and rejected in 5 seconds? You automate and scale up. But, when everyone does, it also gets worse for everyone.

@hosford42@techhub.social Only thing we can think of is get a job agency batting for you. They can not only get long-term positions opened up, but shorter term stuff as well.

@hosford42@techhub.social WhenI was young, my rap sheet (starting with a COINTELPRO frame up) made me unemployable at any good paying (corporate) job. So I hired myself. Best move I ever made. I recommend it to all. Then I joined a self-managed construction crew. Even better.
