Got in a short walk before the heat sets in right later. Hot, but not unbearable. The humidity hasn't arrived yet, but there's no breeze at all. Not bad in the shade. Met Mike and his dog Bear. At least, I think it was Mike. I'm sure about Bear. Mike and I naturally fell into a rhythm walking together, talking old guy stuff. Arthritis, bad back, getting enough water, minor surgeries, that sort of thing. I only aimed for a short stroll and back, so I wasn't pushing at all. But for the whole distance, my back didn't hurt or feel tired at all. No, it's not that I'm getting into shape, *pfft*. But something's improving. I've been using a walking stick lately. I can't figure out exactly why, but when I walk with the stick, I can go twice as far before my back starts giving me the "sit down and rest now, or you'll soon be done for the day" warning. Is it the arm motion? Is it the extra balance, saving those particular muscles a bit of work?
