@reflex@retrogaming.social @tante@tldr.nettime.org The point being, I can't even get to the bottom of what an AI even is in order to make sense of the policies. Are LLMs banned? Speech to text banned? Text to speech banned? Implementing ML in programming? Does SciKit-Learn qualify as a banned include? What's the actual criteria here? Ive seen AI completely utterly change in what it's defined as dozens of times even just in my professional life. What it appears to me is that statistical inference based programming is what scares people. And naturally, scared people flail out.

I am pretty certain you understand this is generative coding, ie: using Claude and the like. Trying to blur the line by adopting the industry "lets go and relable existing, established technologies as AI to confuse everyone" only marks you as a shill for the industry, and not someone having an intellectually honest conversation wtih real questions.
