That would mean Kentucky has only 1 Senator until the next Congress is sworn in January 2027.
That's not great for the citizens of Kentucky.
But it also impacts the ability of the Republican party to pass legislation.
Presently there are 53 Republican, 45 Democratic, and two independent who caucus with the Democrats.
Some legislation requires only a majority (50+1) to pass. And the Republicans have already had difficulties getting all 53 to agree.
