I’ll admit there’s a small part of me that hopes it blows up, mainly because I feel Anthropic is getting away with massive piracy for a pittance. You can be completely in the tank for AI and still want to see Anthropic (and OpenAI and Meta and …) fairly compensate the creators on whose works these AIs are trained.

@JasonAnthonyGuy I'm not sure if the AI companies agree with you. I'm pretty sure I've seen more than one say that copyright law would render their business unviable, which is why they should be allowed to ignore it (for the good of the economy of course) 🫠

@JasonAnthonyGuy I'm bummed because my very academic book was published after the download cutoff, and I don't qualify, even though it's on libgen. 3K would have doubled my royalties.
