A 256 GiB DDR5 ECC RDIMM sells for around $103/gram.
Gold sells for about $132/gram.

I couldn't afford that. I only got four of the 16 GiB ones, and that cost plenty. I think I know why they're so expensive, though. The DIMMs were packaged two to an antistatic plastic tray with a transparent lid. Each pair packaged in a fancy printed box. Two of those boxes (four DIMMs) were packaged in another fancy printed box. That box was packaged with some instructions, a polishing cloth, and other BS in a much bigger, much fancier printed box with silver highlights. 2/
