It’s white wood glue in the break, although I think I saw Julian do something on The Repair Shop using some super strong polymer glue. I don’t have that of course and not sure what to buy, so I tried the white stuff, and if that doesn’t work, I’ll still have that to sesrch for and try.
.
the fretboard is on with that horrible to use Titebond Liquid Hide Glue, so in theory it could still be re-done if need be. Did the repair last night and the fretboard this afternoon and I have other things tomorrow so by the time I’m planning to take the clamps off and mess with it, it will be tomorrow night, everything should be as set as can be.
.
Then I’m back to putting the “e,” strings on, drawing my lines and paring it down to size.
.
It’s a two edged sword: I invest more labour in a perhaps still broken neck, but if I take the time and I do, the glue is probably continuing to dry and cure while I do.
.
And that’s my decision right now: shape it as much as possible - the width is certainly possible - before I test the break again and if that holds, see the amount of flex and start shaping the top.

nope, changing that plan now, going to carve the width and the back /shoulders a bunch, maybe finish it, to taste sort of thing before I ever tighten the strings.
.
I’ve another little problem, I’m squeezing the spread of the strings all around, that’s why all my saddles are notched, and first, I did pretty good for proportions on this saddle - except the low “G” string is too close to its mate, I need somehow to move that over a bit. But the larger issue is see the pic, you can’t squeeze your string spread on a 12 string, there’s no wiggle room.
.
I’ve been thinking I would try to take the sides off of the forward bridge pins, but I just had an incrementally better thought, to lop the tops off of all six of the forward ones.
.
Something has to be done. They’re going to pop out like bullets.
