nope, changing that plan now, going to carve the width and the back /shoulders a bunch, maybe finish it, to taste sort of thing before I ever tighten the strings. . I’ve another little problem, I’m squeezing the spread of the strings all around, that’s why all my saddles are notched, and first, I did pretty good for proportions on this saddle - except the low “G” string is too close to its mate, I need somehow to move that over a bit. But the larger issue is see the pic, you can’t squeeze your string spread on a 12 string, there’s no wiggle room. . I’ve been thinking I would try to take the sides off of the forward bridge pins, but I just had an incrementally better thought, to lop the tops off of all six of the forward ones. . Something has to be done. They’re going to pop out like bullets. . /33 #Luthier #Guitar #Framus12StringProject

  • I’ve got the fretboard width almost where I think I want it now, almost down to the width of my smallest 12 string nut - and Good Lady, with that fresh, full new fretboard right now it’s as round and fat as the fattest guitar neck from a hundred years ago. . I can’t touch finger to thumb around it anywhere, not even close. A lot of work yet, and an adequate outcome is growing more unlikely by the day. . But hey, as Mom used to say, can’t dance and too fat to fly. If it doesn’t work out, I can still butcher and convert it like the other one. 😀 . (Geez, that’s a great title for a disabled person’s autobiography, huh.) /34 #Luthier #Guitar #Framus12StringProject
