PSA to app/website developers: Please never autolink URLs unless they have a scheme on the front, http://, https://, ftp://, whatever.
We need to be able to TALK about a domain without LINKING to it.
(This is particularly important for federated systems like here where talking about a different instance/server is a regular occurrence. Mastodon is good about this. Matrix (federated chat platform) not so much.)

@IceWolf@masto.brightfur.net there have been platforms where i've typed "hxxp" in front of a domain to explicitly designate that it is not a link one should go to, and then the site goes "oh cool lemme just link that domain for ya"
