@rtificial@infosec.exchange @rk@mastodon.well.com I woke the yeast in warm water and sugar, which I would do even if the recipe hadn't called for it because I'm always paranoid that the yeast aren't okay. Bloomed fine, but incorporating with the fridge-temp milk probably gave me a worse rise than I would have had otherwise.

@SnoopJ@hachyderm.io sounds bout right. The warm water and the sugar gets it started nicely. I’d agree on the milk. There is whole world of nerdy math for the perfect temp on all ingredients, the room, oven etc. I never cared enough to go THAT deep into the dark arts.
