So, you would refuse/disregard AI reading of X-rays, MRIs, CTs, ultrasounds and other diagnostic images? AI tools have proven to be able to spot early signs of trouble (esp. important in mammograms) that might be easy to miss, even for trained human eyes. They have also proven to decrease the number of false positives in these types of tests.

@pitd@mstdn.social There are many legitimate technologies in machine learning that ARE NOT deeply unethical and destructive LLMs.

@pitd@mstdn.social @sharpcheddargoblin@reclusive.blog @belehaa@wandering.shop You know very well what AI they are talking about, and yet you purposefully moved the goalpost to uses of AI that weren’t included in the original post. Besides, medical uses of optical recognition systems are questionable too, as my fiancée’s imaging tech had to use capitals in their report to infirm the computer-generated report, I assume because people (just like you) have been badgering them about false positives.
