@r_alb@mastodon.social Couldn't agree more, "basically not my problem, nothing to hide, let the state and corps continue leading us down the path to authoritarianism" is the classic reply by 99,99% of the regular folks I try to talk to about any #privacy issue ;)

@r_alb@mastodon.social My favorite responses to that are: 1. Do you have blinds or curtains on your windows? Can I come remove all of them along with all the doors in your house? 2. This is like saying you shouldn't have freedom of speech because you have nothing to say. You should be questioning the people trying to take rights away, not the people trying to hold onto them and protect yours.

@r_alb@mastodon.social as far as I can tell, looking at the news over the last 25 years, 90%+ of people in the US/UK (I only speak English :) ) are 100% willing to give up their privacy if it means either a they save a few seconds on line b giving up privacy means less crime (or the promise of less crime, sold on TV shows like CSI or all those UK shows where every crime is solved via CCTV)
