It probably should not have, as I left the org shortly after the founder and CEO died, and there were increasingly clear indications that the company was walking away from the culture that made them special.
That became really clear when they broke their 50 year core philosophy of never having RIFed 3 years ago with a 4% layoff in the "modern" US Corporate style (via email, and a demand that the RIFed staff train their lower-paid replacements on the way out to get their severance).

But still, for me at least it seems so much like a microcosmic example of how we has a society and culture have lost our way. This was a place that I was connected to in one way or another for 15 years. Where, no matter who you were or what standing you had there, the founder and CEO (who for a while was one of the wealthiest people in the U.S.) was 100% accessible, ate in the company cafeteria, and worked out in the company gym. An org where everyone knew him simply as "Bill".
