I don't want to be a pedant (but I'm gonna power through it), but death metal is a specific type of metal. It's not just a blanket term for all metal and metal adjacent music.

I'm not telling you this because I think the distinction is super important, I'm telling you this because if you call all metal "death metal", you sound a thousand years old.
