I was reminded today of the day I knew I had reached old man status. On base. Walking towards the gym entrance. A female Marine and I were approaching from opposite directions, about equal distance. Just as we're reaching the door, she jumps forward, grabs the door, opens it for me, and says, "After you, sir!" Dear reader, I died that day.
