I know software updates can be exhausting these days. On top of regular weariness of things changing, there’s stuff like Liquid Glass, or thoughtless AI integrations. So, I’m curious: Was there a recent software update you can remember, anywhere, that just made you happy? Something that made an app genuinely better for you, or showed a developer listening to users, or was just plain old delightful?

@mwichary@mastodon.online KDE Plasma (a desktop environment for Linux) and associated apps. Every major release, they either manage to make everything run faster, implement new useful features, or make the usability even better. The past few releases had mostly been for stabilization, but the latest 6.7 series has them gone into feature addition mode once again, and really it's hard not to be excited! The devs are responsive, the community is vibrant and the software is genuinely good. (Inkscape is another one but I'm associated with it too deep to give a leveled opinion :blackcat_wagging: )

@mwichary@mastodon.online the @pachli@mastodon.social developer is amazing, the care hi puts on everything, and mentioning every people that was involved on new ideas/fixes/improvements/translations... I do not remember others doing it, is great Every pachli update is a prove of something great happened/is happening... Increases the hope world count a little
