@SteveBellovin@infosec.exchange We all do our best to make as much of this as possible invisible to students by only admitting people if we're sure we'll be able to fund them. But the current situation is pretty dire, and essentially unprecedented.

@mattblaze@federate.social @SteveBellovin@infosec.exchange I know that a lot of universities are trying to keep there heads down to avoid attracting attention from the regime, but they really should be more proactive in raising concerns through the press, social media, their alumni network, industry contacts, etc.

@mattblaze@federate.social Right. I had decided to retire long before this was even conceivable, but I’m sure glad I don’t have to deal with it now—and I feel sorry for my colleagues who do.
