Is this just my perception or have people largely stopped using the term "retro gaming", or categorizing games as retro games?
I feel like there was a time when people were into retro games, but nowadays retro aesthetics and mechanics have mixed into current games without being labeled like that. There might be pixel or PS1 style low poly graphics in current games no matter their mechanics and it's more about the appeal of minimalistic looks that focus on the essential.
I'm not sure, it might just be my impression…?

@onion I find myself, quite often, mentally debating at what point do I refer to something as a Retro Gaming. This mostly occurs when I am thinking about PS2 and GameCube era things, and whilst I have probably thrown down that tag a couple of times when talking about that era I often find myself agonising over the inclusion.
