Minnesota set many of its extreme heat records during the mid 1930s, with 25 days of blazing 100 degree heat, including the Twin Cities’ all-time record high of 108 degrees on July 14, 1936. What was different about that era? Humidity levels and dew points weren’t nearly as high as they are today. The ‘30s Dust Bowl was in fact a “dry heat” and the extreme heat was regional, focused on the central United States, not global as it is today. #History
