@ian@mastodon.radio Have you considered getting a (self-charging) hybrid? You would get much better fuel consumption, without the constraints of charging. having worked for Toyota manufacturing for more than 20 years, I would recommend all of their range for problem free motoring.

@paul_j@hachyderm.io @ian@mastodon.radio Agreed. We've had two Toyota hybrids - think diesel levels of fuel consumption with petrol levels of convenience (and price).They were completely trouble free and our next car would also have been another (Motability scuppered that though!)

@paul_j@hachyderm.io Something like that might be on the fallback list, we have a salary sacrifice scheme for EVs which is likely to make them a lot cheaper than otherwise, but it's pure EVs only rather than hybrids
