For me, it depends on the poster and their content.
After Elon Musk bought Twitter, an author I really like moved (back?) to a process of posting on his blog and automating cross posting to Mastodon, his newsletter and other locations. He's good about interacting here and elsewhere for a few days but mainly dies interaction on his blog. That makes a lot of sense to me.
