@BenjaminHCCarr@hachyderm.io Before the LLM craze took over, we actually had fairly decent speech to text, though not perfect. Imagine where we might be now if all that "AI" money had focused on improving useful deterministic programs like that, instead of on "how can we trick and deceive people on the largest scale possible".

@BenjaminHCCarr@hachyderm.io The information on how the system was evaluated is disturbing. Is the article some sort of bizarre joke? #NoAI

@BenjaminHCCarr@hachyderm.io Concerning: “60% of evaluated AI Scribe systems mixed up prescribed drugs in patient notes, auditors say”. #Canada #AIMedicalNotetakers #publicHealth #MedicalInformation https://www.theregister.com/ai-ml/2026/05/14/ontario-auditors-find-doctors-ai-note-takers-routinely-blow-basic-facts/5240771

@BenjaminHCCarr@hachyderm.io I binge-watched a bunch of yt chimp docs last night & quite a few were obviously AI prepared/narrated and full of idiocy (one distinguished the defining features of chimps, baboons and lemurs as follows: 'brains', 'brawn', and 'matriarchy'). For those who've not read on chimps/primates before, or who are not as prepared to question the content, it'd be impossible to separate the plausible from purely nonsensical rubbish. It's not just slop we’re being fed. It’s toxic slop.
