@skyblitz@kanoa.de Mozilla Corporation chases AI. Mozilla Org builds Firefox. Not that much actual dev time in org is spent on AI. I get where that impression comes from as Corp is responsible for PR and marketing. Org does pretty good job on the web tech side though. Just look the results of the past few years of Interop efforts. E.g. https://wpt.fyi/interop-2025 https://wpt.fyi/interop-2024 The browser itself gets new features too. Not too long ago Firefox got vertical tabs, tab groups, and split tabs among many other featers. @Hikari@ohai.social

The thing is Firefox have so much techical debt that it's not even funny anymore. It's what happen when the corp pay a premium it's CEO and under staff the dev. So yes it's mozilla corp the cancers, and they killed firefox. Now the only thing that can save firefox ... it's it's death, that would kill the corporation and allow the community to resurect it.

@pointlessone@status.pointless.one @Hikari@ohai.social and it's not even taking into account the "freedom", funnily enough you have less fredom on what you install / update on firefox than chromium. chromium allow you to self sign you extension. Firefox foce their crappy back end of "official signature".
