@pointlessone@status.pointless.one @Hikari@ohai.social sadly all of those are "before" their AI frenzzy, linux and chromium still continue the conversion of any critical code. Mozilla is too busy with AI to continue the developement of their security feature like their ridicoulously insecure sandbox (when compared to the chromium one) and it's the "why" many security people will never go back on firefox (until this sandbox is at the same level as chromium).

  • @skyblitz@kanoa.de I’m not getting that impression looking at the activity in the repo. Rust code in the repo is being maintained, there are commits today that touch rust code, so it’s not exactly completely abandoned even in-tree. I understand people wanting more rust but also it's not how historically rust subsystems were coming to firefox. Most were developed outside of Firefox initially and then were integrated. Both WebRender and Stylo were cooking for quite a while in Servo before coming to Firefox. And there's a plenty of activity in Servo right now. I'm not saying that all of it’s coming to Firefox but who knows? @Hikari@ohai.social
