My cat that was born in a Brooklyn parking lot does not give a flying fuck about fireworks. He is sound asleep. Even the other cat, who was born in Seattle but lived in Brooklyn for a time, is only mildly perturbed by the really loud ones. Yay for above ground trains and nightly, mysterious exploding sounds, I suppose.
