Happy 4th and 250 years to my fellow burgers!
It's funny, I felt motivated against the wishes of the speakers. We spent the day in a colonial town, and before the fireworks show there was a speech about how we're in a divisive and fractured time now. The speech dodged being divisive itself but pointed out that many of America's Founders severely argued with one another and even cut ties with how much they disagreed, but ultimately they worked to forge the world they wanted. The point of the speech was that we can remake our unity as a nation and as a collection of demographics; I saw it as a sign that a true nation can still be forged from where we're at now. We're only 250 years old, I've lived through 10% of this country's history, and that's plenty young enough to continue making a mark on its identity. I hope the other Americans here feel a similar wave of renewed motivation on this landmark holiday.
HAPPY 250 YEARS, AMERICA! IN GOD IS OUR TRUST
