@glassdelusion@mastodon.social some guy told me that in North America there actually aren't any honey bees or they're not the same. those black bees they don't produce honey. The ones that produce the honey are coming from Europe and Africa.

@NathanMurdock@mastodon.social Honeybees, Apis mellifera are domesticated bees believed to have originated in Africa or Asia and brought by humans to every continent except Antarctica, so they did not naturally occur in the Americas until imported. But they have been here for hundreds of years now. @glassdelusion@mastodon.social
