In Germany it is forbidden to put it into the green waste bin because they make compost of it.
Cardboard contains:
- Plasticizer
- adhesives
- Biocides against animal pests
- anti-mold agents
- PFAS
- Printing inks can contain substances that are hazardous to health
- Additives such as binders

@Irisfreundin@troet.cafe Apparently I am. :( I appreciate your pointing this out. Here is an article in English: https://gardenprofessors.com/the-cardboard-controversy/ I will be rethinking my approach -- probably still using the cardboard, but less of it and with more gaps or perforations. Now I'm curious what happens to our locally recycled cardboard...
