a curious question for anyone who knows anything about #minecraft or sound engineering:
any ideas how could i recreate the downsampling that created the in-game version of the song Dry Hands?

..is it just converting to mono and then lowering the sample rate? i guess i should try that

@tajoma@critter.cafe part of me feels like this might not have been downsampled, but rather played on speakers in a room and then recorded back. the reverb on that piano sounds very room-like, and the EQing seems kinda complex, like there are some resonances happening in the bass that are common when playing music on large speakers that are a bit hard to capture artificially don't forget about the tremolo on the piano, it adds a lot of character and subtle rhythm
