especially with the "ai" thing, people are using them to fill in a gap that society left empty: health advice, research tools, companionship. blaming individuals for choices they made under this kind of coersion is always going to be approximately as effective as the fucking DARE program

@nora@blob.love There's a whole genre of anti-AI rhetoric that's like this: completely unconvincing to anyone who doesn't already agree with you. Another one I see a lot is "Everything people use AI for is easy to do without AI", which is uhhh false.

@nora@blob.love Very much agree. I won't do it, but boy could I go on about surface-level anti-AI sentiment that is uninformed about informational access issues for blind/disabled folks. Like, yes, the problems with AI are real and serious, but maybe let's fight together for concrete accessibility solutions instead of someone preaching things I already know at me.
