Because of timing, we typically follow with legumes. The garlic comes out just when the beans need to go in. We've also done hot weather peppers, and pretty much everything else -- except more alliums. We strictly limit alliums to one run per three years.

@johntimaeus@infosec.exchange Thank you. Did you grow pole or bush beans? I tried growing bush beans after garlic last year, but they didn't grow well. I've heard from other gardeners that garlic can affect growth of beans and other legumes. I'm rotating my garlic in three beds.
